End of Summer Hoorah Part 2
After fun at the Grandma and Grandpa B's, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Gilberts for the 2nd part of our little trip. The kids jumped on the trampoline, built forts, explored through the orchard, and played till there was not an inch of there body that was not covered in dirt. They love the adventure of the farm. At night time they always look forward to Grandpa's stories. After all of the fun exploring we headed to Callahan's waterslide. It has become quite the attraction in our little farm town. What a blast! The kids loved it. The game was to see which method of going down the slide was the funnest and fastest. I think the air matress took the prize. What a way to end the summer
Mylie and Brielle on the trampoline- What cute girls.
Breydon and Wyatt worked really hard making a fort out of grandpa's cherry wood. Their final product had a sheet draped around it to form a teepee. Much to their dismay, the only old sheet grandma had was covered with a rose pattern. Not a very manly looking sheet, but the fort turned out awesome.
After all these years Brer Bear and Brer Fox are still trying to figure out how to catch Brer Rabbit. My kids love hearing grandpa read them stories and are wondering if Brer Fox and Brer Bear will ever catch on to Brer Rabbit and his briar patch tricks. Wyatt tried the turtle backwards. It was pretty exciting.Brielle preferred going down on her little tush. It slowed the action down a little bit.Breydon tried going down every way imaginable, but I think the matress was his favorite.Dane just liked to stand at the bottom and watch. I took him down with me once, but knew he had no desire to go down again any time soon. How many kids can you fit on an air matress speeding down a waterslide and not end up with any broken bones? LOTS!Dad and Cami had to see what all the fuss over the mattress was about. Then mom went with dad to try it too. I think they liked it!
End of Summer Hoorah Part 1
Summer was almost over and Kerry couldn't take any time off work so I decided to pack up the kids and go see family. First we went to Grandma and Grandpa B's and had a great time. We arrived at about 2:00 and were off to the fair by about 3:00. We visited all the animals: cows, pigs, chickens, horses, bunnies, etc. Dane felt it necessary to touch each one as to not leave out any animal. Touching the cows behinds was even part of the fun. Can anyone say hand sanitizer! Next was the Demo Derby. The more crashes there were and the louder it got, the better it seemed to be. The next day the kids tried out grandma's new pool, rode motorbikes, and played with the kittens. There was fun for everyone!Dane and Jackson drinking "B" pop. Can you tell they like it?It's always fun to be with cousins.Wyatt and Jace having a slam dunk contest I love brother he loves me. He loves sister yesiree. There's so much love can't you see, We are a happy family. I had to throw that one in there. Being that Brielle is the only girl in the bunch, I'm sure she has a lot more "brotherly love" yet to come.Breydon's favorite thing about going to grandmas is the kittens. He's always loved animals. Dane loves animals too; however, I don't know if his affection would be considered love or torture.
Popsicles, and cousins are a great combination!
Grandma and Grandpa "B" came to visit and brought Alain and Brian's boys. It was great fun. We played at the park, went to watch Breydon's scout skits, and of course had popsicles! The next day they all went for a ride in Uncle Shane's boat and had lunch. Fun, Fun, and more Fun!
Yeah!!! Sunriver
This summer we went to Sunriver again with the Gilberts. We tend to gravitate back there quite often because there's so much to do and everyone loves it.Every year that we go to Sunriver we attempt to get everyone on bikes and have a family bike ride. This is quite a challenge (being that there are 33 of us) but is always fun. We look like a never ending row of ants as we circle the bikepaths. The boys thought it would be fun to do a survey of all the bikers that we passed and ask them their favorite color and food to see what the most popular was. We got to know many people on that ride. This is a bridge over the Deschutes River that we always bike to and take a family picture. It's always beautiful there. We're on our way to float the river. The kids are all excited but don't know how cold the water really is! Brrr! Bikes, Bikes, Bikes. We couldn't keep them off their bikes. Dane had just made the move from his hotwheel to a "big boy" bike with training wheels right before the trip. Much to my dismay, the many older boys and girls on speeding bikes did not intimidate him at all, but instead became his racing opponents. Luckily he survived.Malea and Dane looking so cute.Breydon and Jack chillin in the house.Wyatt, Connor, and Evan playing foosball.Grandpas read stories, give 4-wheeler rides, and pour water on unsuspecting little boys. We love grandpas! And this is how we all felt by the end of the trip.
